Maybe its because that their parents have some thing important to do.And I think the appropriate age for kids to be home alone is 9-16.I think this because some kids (not all) are responsible for their own good. That's why I choose age 9-16.
I think you should be 11 and older because when you are 11 you known what you are not allow to do and not allow to do.Also because when you are eleven should have a phone so if something happen you can call your mom or dad.That is why you should be eleven and older.
I agree because I'm 11 years old and I can still take care of me when I'm at my house by myself. I can feed myself staying at home and I can call my parent if something happens.

Which would be bad because than if they are left alone they could die. For example once I saw a video and it show a kid die because he was left alone in a car. People tried to save him because they saw him but it was to late. Once they got in the car he was still breathing but he died shortly after.
